Welcome to Heitiki Droughtmaster Stud |
|
We have much pride in introducing you to the Heitiki Droughtmaster Stud #302 run by the partnership of JS, MA & TS Lloyd. The proud origin of this stud stems from the purchase of its first bull, ‘Hercules’ from the Booralee Droughtmaster Stud near Delungra in northern NSW in the early 1970’s.
Heitki Droughtmaster Stud is located in the rolling hills of northern NSW, 20km north-west from Inverell and 10km north of the closest township of Delungra.
From its early beginnings the priority of this stud has always been to produce cattle well suited to the market and cattle which are easy to manage and safe to be around. The quiet nature of the Droughtmaster fitted these priorities well.
Many years later the Heitiki breed line is sought out by astute buyers looking for cattle with good conformation, strong character and reliability to deliver strong healthy calves each year.
Heitiki blood lines have proven to be resilient and well suited to variable seasonal conditions. The Heitiki Droughtmaster is equally at home on clover and oat pastures as it is coping with short pasture grazing in times of drought. The natural ability of the Droughtmaster breed to walk well over distance, its short tick resistant coat, its strong brown pigmentation around the eye, ears and nose avoiding eye blight and cancers, its bloat tolerance, ease of calving and natural mothering ability to produce early maturing progeny are among some of its renowned attributes which all contribute to the ease of stock management for the cattle owner.
Above all it is the proven value of Heitiki Droughtmasters to meet market specifications in an efficient and economical manner.
